  James, how about Gujurati Rasoi in Dalston opposite White Rabbit on Bradbury St? http://www.gujaratirasoi.com/?no_redirect=true Have to confess I haven't eaten there, but the chutneys from their Broadway Market stall are awesome and at least here is an Indian restaurant trying to be contemporary and more specific than just 'Indian'...   Concur that veggie rasa is very good. There is a fairly new south indian in Dalston, Gujarati Rasoi. A bit more fancy and expensive than Rasa but also very good.
