Can anyone recommend dog home from home boarders? I don't want to put my dog in a kennel as I'm having to go to a family wedding abroad for a week . Thanks in advance :)

I own 3 dogs - 1 full border collie and 2 border collie x and by nature they can be quite nervy and wary - looked at the idea of kennels but didn't entertain it for long as I know collies are one breed that don't cope well in kennels and also most kennels were reluctant to walk off lead and collies need more than a 1-2 lead walks, they need a good run. So kennels were soon off my hit list. I did ALOT of research on home boarding - after all I am trusting someone with my pride and joy - so I wanted to make sure whoever had them was all legit etc etc. and came across a lovely lady who lives in Cowfold (nr henfield) who does home boarding. We went to meet her and she was lovely. Gave us a taster of the walks the dogs would go on... All in the countryside which was perfect given my dogs breed. So long story short we settled on her to have them just over 10 days. They would stay in her house as do her own dogs so she was with them 24/7... And varied age gaps - my dads one was 12 at the time, mine was 3 and my sisters mastiff x pup was 9 months. So she had her work cut out but we came back to find 3 contented dogs. All the walks they had, I don't think they wanted to leave lol! http://m.ramblingroversdws.co.uk/ Or google 'rambling rovers Cowfold' and the site should pop up. Lovely lady called Suzi who runs it. And should we go away again for more than a night or 2 I will not hesitate in leaving my dogs with her again. She also collects / drops off dogs so there's no need to worry about trekking up to Cowfold to drop them off or collect and I promise ya, your dogs will be too distracted to notice your gone and like ours probably won't wanna come home! Regardless of who you choose tho, I would say its worth looking at several places and talking to a few people to get an idea and see which one you feel would best your dogs needs. But Suzi is my recommendation :o)
