  Think local first. We’re not suggesting that 100% of your purchases should be made at local businesses. But when you’re making a purchase, consider your local options first. Is the business located in Rhode Island? Is it independently owned and locally controlled? Does it use local sources?

  @Patricia; if more folks shopped locally at independant/small businesses our local economy would be stronger (& there would be more businesses in town). A higher percentage of $ goes directly back to the city as opposed to spending $ in a large chain/big box store. This is an excellent reference http://www.the350 project.net/home.html
