My dad is coming from the US next week and wants to get his tefillin checked here because there is no sofer in his area. Anyone know a good lower cost place to get tefillin checked in/around downtown? (If you know how much they charge please say).
Looking for a reputable and reasonably priced place to buy Tefillin and have new tzitzit place on a tallit

Or Hasofer on 9 Strauss which is just a short walk up from the corner of King George and Jaffa Street http://www.hasofer.com/ The link says 10 Strauss Street but they just moved across the street
An old and neglected sefer torah recently fell into my hands, and I'm looking to get it repaired and kashured.
It also is JUST the scroll so needs general outfitting.
Anyone know someone who can help? Or know where to start such a process?

Does anyone know someone that sells new tefflin?? My sister just brought a group to Israel and one man wants a pair of teffilin!! The person selling would need to bring it to the mamila hotel tom (friday) between 3-4pm... they are on a very tight schedule so he cant go meet the man. But it is a 100% sell if we find the person who can get it together. ANY AND ALL leads are appreciated
Just moved into new home and am trying to find mezuzot for the house. All the ones I've found are out of price range. Does anyone know of where to get one with scroll at reasonable price?
Who knows the best (i.e. mehudar yet cheapest) place in JERUSALEM to a) buy new mezuzot scrolls (scrolls only), and b) get old ones checked? If so please include the name, address and general pricing if you know it. Thanks in advance!

HaSofer in Mea Shearim at 10 Straus Street. Rav Flumenbaum is great. American staff. My brother-in-law bought tefillin from them and I've had my tefillin checked there whenever I'm in Israel. Prices on the website, but probably better in store.http://www.hasofer.com/

HaSofer (I presume they are still on Strauss) or Oter Yisrael (Kanfei Nesharim)
HaSofer at 10 Strauss. They speak English, and I've gone to them for years so I trust them. 02-538-3701. I don't recommend buying from Judaica stores because I've worked at one, and it's just business there, in the most cynical way.
can anyone recommend a good sofer who can check mezuzahs preferably in katamon?

Much better off with an established and recognized safrut group - HASOFER, Rav Moshe Flumenbaum, Strauss #10, phone 02-538-3701, info@hasofer.com, http://hasofer.com/
My friend is getting married and asking what's the best place in Jerusalem to buy a ketuba and a Tallis for her husband and all that great stuff before a wedding. Thanks!

Where did everyone buy mezuzah cases from? I have moved into a new home and want to go to a store with tonnes of choice. Looking for modern styles. Willing to travel. Any recommendations? :)
Murray G. replied:
HaSofer store on the beginning of Strauss street in center of Jerusalem. They have a fairly large selection of mezuza cases. You can also shop on their website, www.hasofer.com
Shalom Secret Jerusalem. I would like to purchase a tallit for a friend in Finland wishing it. Would you be willing to make a recommendation where should/could I get one with good price/quality ratio? I dont know much about the topic myself. Thank you in advance and many blessings.

Go to HaSofer at Strauss 10, a few meters north of King George Street, just passed Yafo. Friendly staff that will explain every detail and every price range to get the best gift for your friend. English and Hebrew speaking. http://www.hasofer.com/
Where is a good place to buy a mezuzah klaf? (Good price)
Scott K. replied:
HaSofer at 10 Strauss. On King George St., walk north passed Yaffo, it'll be on your right. English-speaking, most reliable kashrut, and a range of prices, hashkafas, sizes, etc. http://www.hasofer.com/
Any place on Ben Yehuda cheap to get tallis or all touristy? Geula better? Limited time in jlem.
Scott K. replied:
Go up to HaSofer on Strauss. Less than a minute up King George from Jaffa. Americans work there, great service, very fair prices and high quality. They can explain every detail for you so you know you're making the right purchase. I bought tzitzit from them and my father-in-law bought his tallis there (he also bought tefillin and my brother-in-law bought tefillin there). http://www.hasofer.com/
