Anyone got a number for a decent driving instructor? Cheers!

"Caversham school of motoring" was really excellent, especially as Martin (I'm sure that was his name) was really flexible around my work hours. I think I had all my lessons over the weekends - even Sundays. Contact details: 07796 307390, 71 Chiltern Rd Caversham Reading RG4 5HS The father (Simon Chinn) of one of my son's friends is also meant to be very good, again based in Caversham and a really nice guy. Contact details: http://www.drivereading.co.uk/ DO NOT go with Premier/Angels! I am aware this judgement may seem harsh as it is judging a company with a number of instructors on the actions of one, but I say it because my experience of this guy was so, so horrid I wouldn't want anyone else to have to experience it. (http://www.premierangels.co.uk/) From day one if I did something wrong, he shouted at me and made me feel so useless I would be trembling and crying. He would bully me into booking lessons when I would say I needed to wait because of money; he did this by making me feel that I was so terrible, I needed all the help I could get and that he was a saint for agreeing to teach me - 'no one else would take on let alone persevere with a student like me' was what he made me think; all untrue of course! I had zero confidence because of him! He frequently spoke to me like I was stupid, in monosyllabic slowed down patronising speech. I would have given up entirely, convinced that I was unteachable, if it hadn't been for friends persuading me, to give it a shot with someone else. I gave Martin (see above - Caversham school of motoring) who not only taught me but completely restored my confidence. Oh, and for the record, I was no worse than any other learner, I was totally average! The plan had been to knock me so much I would take additional lessons for a long, long, long time thus meaning a lot more money for him. Total bully, creep and selfish bastard. Do not let an instructor make you feel this way, if they do, change immediately! Find one who you gel with, there is no excuse for shouting, their job is to be supportive and to give you confidence and that can be done while correcting you if done right. Best if luck!
