We are looking to do some sight seeing, and some light night life, and awesome cuisine. We will be taking the overnight train to Chiang Mai afterwards. Does anyone have recommendations for a centrally located hotel for what we are looking for? A buddy that is going with us wants to be by the river, are there benefits to staying near the river?   I found Silq hotel (http://www.silqbkk.com/), through trip advisor (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293916-d1442950-Reviews-SilQ_Bangkok-Bangkok.html), loved it, and stayed there for two weeks. It's centrally located near sukhumvit, within a short walk of the Asoke sky train, and it's right around the corner from one of Bangkok's best massage places, Healthland (http://www.healthlandspa.com/home.html). I don't know what the flooding situation is like right now, but the river areas were to be avoided about a month ago.
