Ok so the other day someone was asking about a seamstress in the area and someone mentioned a lady in ruckersville on 33 anybody have any ideas who it was or how I could get a hold if them.

Shirley Ann Smith (July 30, 1942 - July 28, 2013) Shirley Ann Smith, 70, of Stanardsville passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 at her home. Shirley was born July 30, 1942, daughter of the late Tommy Morris and Elsie Williams Morris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Morris, Jr. and her grandparents, Mattie and Newton Williams, Elizabeth and Elzie Morris. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Alfred R. Smith; her son, Alva M. Knight, Jr. and his friend, Becky L. Morris of Orange; her daughter, Joyce K. Dudley and her husband, Charles “Buck” Dudley of Ruckersville; her stepson, Alfred “Josh” Smith and his friend, Becky of Stanardsville; four sisters, Betty J. Knight and Frances M. Brown both of Ruckersville, Virginia M. Shifflett and her husband, Juston of Stanardsville, Linda M. Knapp and her husband, Charles of Barboursville; two brothers, Jim F. Morris and his wife, Dosha of Lake Anna and Newton G. Morris and his friend, Linda of Ruckersville. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Katie M. Knight, Ashly N. Morris and Ariel L. Morris; and two great grandchildren, Amaya P. Shifflett and Sydney I. Reynolds. Shirley owned and operated the Sewing Shop in Ruckersville. Shirley was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed travelling and playing cards. She was a very hard worker and was known for her talent as a seamstress. She was especially proud of her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, Virginia. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Ryan Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Lamb officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s memory to the Martha Jefferson Hospital Cancer Care Center.
