Maybe farmstay or something like that... just to relax and to change environment, walking, cycling, nothing fancy but definitely kids friendly. Not too far ;) Do you have any recommendation?   English Country Cottages. You can find some really lovely places all over the country. With young kids you probably want a beach so Dorset, New Forest (walking, cycling, pony trekking), Bournemouth very good beaches. Swanage/Weymouth in Dorset lovely.
