  Some advice needed please. My 20 year old mare has Cushings and had a slightly high insulin reading recently. She is doing well but needs to slowly lose a very small amount of weight. She is happily out around 6 - 8 hours a day with a muzzle and her hay is soaked. The vet suggested she had around 3kg hay per night (along with the grass). I try to put her out later in the morning, especially now that we're having frost and some days she will stay in if it's really bad. My problem is that she is eating her hay very quickly despite having a trickle net and another smaller one which is triple netted! She had 2 to encourage her to walk around her stable. Any suggestions as to how to slow her down please? Many thanks x

  Guess so I double net all mine now, just they expensive as it is, I'm buying 1 m sq peices of 1 inch netting an making my own for the big bales for field an for hay boxes as a lid, can get link to those if wanted just a peice of net ? From allplas.co.uk
