Who a good head builder in Melbourne for a 1j head. Looking at larger valves, port job, combustion area cleaned up and cc'd and assembled with single piece buckets to suit supplied 264/272 cams.

I can do the whole head setup from start to finish, however there's ways to do things and certain combinations of parts that work together to achieve a result. If you're just going to do a port job and valve job without changing the cams, you're not going to maximize your return on the dollars spent, especially if they are low lift cams. You only need shimless buckets when the base circle has changed to the point where the torque of the lobe is sliding the shim due to higher duration and/or when the lobe will wear on the edge of the shim lip retainer. I didn't need shimless buckets to rev to 7500 rpm for example in my 1JZ. That said, you would be better off setting up a bucket size and then re-grinding the stem to suit the clearance wanted. Lots of info needed to get the right setup sorted out. Message me on Racetune to discuss. www.facebook.com/racetuneaus
