  Remote beaches/holiday spots? Anyone know of any great, remote beaches with guest houses / cottages / rentals in the Western Cape? In and around the Cape is ideal, but I'm willing to travel. I'm looking for a place, ideally self-catering, that's completely off the beaten path. I've got some time off coming up in early Feb, and I'd like to spend it somewhere away from everything else :) beach is preferred but anywhere can be considered.

  I think the West Coast has some pretty cool spots. Eland's Bay. Lambert's Bay. Paternoster etc. Check out [lekkeslaap] (http://lekkeslaap.co.za/) It's like a local version of Airbnb. You can change the language to English as well. For something close to Cape Town that still has that 'off the beaten track' feel, I'd suggest checking out Pringle Bay.

  The airbnbs I have looked at in SA are not really too budget friendly. There is often a very high cleaning cost added to the advertised price. I often book through booking.com myself, which is seamless. There is also budget-getaways.co.za The cheapest prices I have seen so far though are through lekkeslaap.co.za, and that is where I would start. They also have loads of places listed. I would do it sooner rather than later if I were you, the cheaper places go fast.
