About us
Through his intimate understanding of animals, Leonard is able to return your dog to a natural, happy, confident state with impeccable manners. And, of couse, no training is complete without teaching you the skills you need to know to keep your dog happy and obedient.
I intuitively know and understand what your dog is thinking and feeling. Whatever the problems are, they can be fixed. The process isn’t complete until I fix the dog and then I teach you how to maintain the solution. Part of eradicating your dog’s problems is teaching you how to connect with your pet on the animal level instead of a human level. A big key to training success is your relationship with your dog. There needs to be a balance of trust, respect, structure, understanding, and leadership.
I train your dog in a way that he doesn’t even realize he’s being trained. It happens naturally, like it would in the pack. I don’t put a learning curve on any of the dogs that I train. That means wherever I go, so does your dog. I watch every move that your dog makes and he keeps an eye on every move that I make. We essentially are each other’s shadows. Your dog learns what behavior is expected throughout the day. Many other training facilities only spend fifteen minutes, three times a day with your dog and then the dog goes back into the kennel for the rest of the day. I do not believe this is how to get long lasting change.

DominantDogs is a special place with unique training methods that aren’t based on basic obedience or dog training. My philosophy is trust, respect, relationship. I do all the training myself customized to your dog. Your dog is not stuck in a cage all day. I work personally with your dog throughout the day.
Doggie Boot Camp* is 3-7 weeks and includes... show more lifetime training. That means if it takes me longer, you don’t get charged more. To be fair to the dog, this type of work needs time. Fear and aggression cannot be corrected in 10-14 days. It just makes things worse. No matter how good that idea of 10-14 days training looks, it’s not fair to the dog and you are not going to get the results you need.
Dog Evaluation Consultation – $250
(If your dog has no aggression or fear, the consultation is $150.)

Linda T. asked:In the LA region, can anyone recommend a bootcamp or airedale experienced trainer. This is for a 2.5 yo spayed girl who has had no formal --not even puppy-- training and spends hours a day in a crate. Not allowed in back yard to run. Gets an hour's walk per day. No socialization with other dogs. This is kind of a hurryup situation.
