  I want to take a friend out to dinner and she isn't vegan. She would prefer somewhere that does meat too. I find it difficult eating in a place that also handles meat but I'm ok with pizza express and sabai. Can anyone suggest anywhere I could take her. I would love to find an indian or Chinese that has vegan options. Can anyone help? (This is obviously in Brighton or hove)

  Pompoko is Japanese food and does vegan and meat stuff, not sure if they are open in the evening though, can't find hours on their site http://www.pompoko.co.uk/

  I second Gars, you'll find things labelled there. In thai places they sometimes use fish/shrimp paste in dishes marked veggie (including Sabai) so be careful. Sawadee in Kemptown and Green Mango in Hove are clued up when you enquire. Pompoko is a bit of a cafe, not my idea of a dinner destination.
