Standish Humane Society is a non-profit tax-exempt organization of volunteers dedicated to the care and placement of lost, stray and abandoned pets in southeastern Massachusetts.
I would like to get a little kitten for the boys for Christmas and something my wife and I are thinking. The one cat we do have now is awesome and a buddy for her and my boys would be cool.... Anyone have ideas where to get one or a family with a new litter! Thank you in advance... Happy Thanksgiving!

Does anyone know a good place to adopt a kitten at a reasonable price.
(I already went to blue dog shelter)
I really want a kitty.

I used Standish Humane Society in Duxbury to adopt the Flynnster. Great people, very reasonable adoption fee, and it included the neutering http://www.standishhumane.org/
Does anybody know of or could recommend a no kill animal shelter in the area (willing to travel a little) that is accepting cats? My son is allergic and now developing increased asthma symptoms due to the allergy. I can't risk my son's health but also don't want to see her put down. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Standish Humane Society will have kittens available soon. Please call 781-834-4663 and speak with someone about which ones are or will be available. Our Facebook page also has many young and older cats for adoption. The adoption fee covers a lot--including testing, shots, spay/neuter and microchip.

Good evening,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good reputable shelter where I can adopt 2 kittens I prefer siblings. They can even be up 10 months of age. My good friend just lost her 2 little boy cats 14 and 16. Please advise. Thank you. Nancy

Looking for the best and most affordable Vet service to get my 16 week old kitten neutered. Preferably close to the scituate area. Thank you!
Dottie L. replied:
As someone mentioned above: Standish Humane Society's website has many options including info on the SpayWaggin' (at the shelter August 26), the STOP clinic, and also low cost vouchers for many area veterinarians. If you call 781-834-4663 there is a prompt for Spay/Neuter information.
Looking for a vet that is not too expensive to neuter my male 6 month kitten. Any Suggestions.....my vet wants 300 - 400. sounds really expensive.
Dottie L. replied:
Joyce License, if you are still looking for spay/neuter options--please call Standish Humane Society at 781-834-4663, and there is a phone prompt for spay/neuter information. More info on this page:http://standishhumane.org/spayneuter.html

Does anyone have a recommendation for the best veterinary clinic in the Plymouth area for a very reasonably priced priced spay and neuter for dogs?
Dottie L. replied:
I volunteer with Standish Humane Society, and while it mostly is a cat shelter, they do assist with lost cost dog spay/neuter. The link for the webpage is on the Facebook page. They have info on SpayWaggin' and STOP clinic. Or you can call 781-834-4663 for info.
