  Skin check advice for a child with a worrying spot on the scalp that is not healing up? Hi mums, can anyone recommend a doctor who would be very thorough in doing a skin check but also very good at dealing with children (and hopefully easy to get an appointment with in the next few weeks)? If possible, I'd rather go to a GP with specialist training in skin cancer as opposed to a specific skin cancer clinic as I don't want to freak my daughter out unnecessarily. After all, it will probably turn out to be nothing to worry about but I think it should be checked out just in case. We have recently moved to Canberra so have no family GP of our own and I don't want to try a random GP or medical clinic for something this potentially serious as I'm worried that I could be told "Don't worry about it - children almost never get skin cancer". If you have any recommendations for who to see or any similar experience to share related to kids' skin checks please let me know. Thanks!
