Hi all! Does anyone know where we can buy prepaid electricity? We don't have a card for our meter, only the number on the meter.. and it's cash power unit.. joys of moving into a new place!

If it is a netvendor meter you can pay by EFT or Pick 'n Pay and give the meter number or you register your cell number with them and they send you a unique pin So you just sms them your Unique pin and the amount of electricity you want then they debit your account the next day, but send you your code within minutes to load onto the meter 0861116199
I live in Kempton and purchase prepaid electricity at the local supermarket.
Can anyone please advise where I can buy electricity at a better rate than 1.4872c per kWh ?

The best way is to buy through the guy who installed your meter, you will then save on fees and get more units, the service fee through my provider netvendor.co.za is 50 rands per month fixed fee, and as Hannelie said buy less than 600 , then if you need more, buy more, and aim for the start of the month rather than the end of the month. Eskom calles this block line tarrif, the more you buy, the more it will cost. And it looks like they have introduced peak and off-peak rates, I am looking to install a geyserwise timer and insulate the geyser and pipes to use less electricity
Looking for a company that deals in prepaid electric meters. Recommendations would be appreciated.

Netvendor

Definitely Netvendor. Excellent service & backup. No gliches.

Netvendor just could not calibrate the meter to cover the bill so as a landlord the payment was just not covering the account! I think because Pmb has that ampere charge!!
Hi Everyone, looking at possibly installing a prepaid electricity meter, looking for recommendations for installation. Would also be interested to know if anyone has had sizable savings from switching over?

Hi Siobhon Tatuam Raynard and Angela Lourens you are welcome to contact me at sales@netvendor.co.za OR phone 0861 116 199. If your tenant fails to pay rent, we are able to "restrict" the purchasing of their electricity token up until they do so and yes this is a legal process...many more advantages to our system.
