At the moment I'm thinking of for a day seminar, so ideally (though I appreciate an excellent venue might not meet all criteria): good accessibility/public transport links, good price (maybe free if someone there is attending in exchange), decent parking, loos and kitchen (or an outside caterer you know who wouldn't need to use one), reasonable size (to seat at least at least 50) and good audiovisual facilities.   My fab neighbours and friends at Nethergill Farm have a great venue, though i dont think could accommodate 50..but it could be an option for a smaller event? http://www.nethergill.co.uk
