  So mom, currently living in Pretoria, has decided that she will soon require a retirement spot down here where her most fantastic son lives with his (average) sister residing in the neighbouring village. And this son has been tasked with drawing up a shortlist for investigation. We are looking for a rental option in a cluster unit (not free standing) with medical standby, secure access and her own garage.   Helderberg Society for the Aged is an organisation with various homes at varying costs + levels of care from independent living to frail/ Alzheimers care. My parents were both cared for by the Society & I briefly volunteered for them - I have great respect.

They own Vonke Park; Helderberg Lodge; Barden Powel Park, Robari Lodge; Silveroaks Lodge; Mountview Lodge. And they also operate the Charity shop Main rd Sset as well has input at the Training Centre in the Michael's Arcade.

  My mom is 83 and moving to Somerset West. I have been looking at retirement villages but the levies are just too high for her pension. She is a very healthy and athletic 83 year old so I want her to have access to a little garden and also be able to do her speed walking which she loves (about 15km a day). Can anyone recommend affordable retirement places to purchase?
