  Most boring post of all time . Roanoke Friends ... I need a really good dry cleaner ...for fragile vintage , for coats with fur collars , for alterations or mending .. and for antique rugs .. I've been looking for one for awhile , and had to end up taking some of my vintage play costumes to Lexington... Mostly I just can't stand the idea of a dry cleaner ruining one of a kind stuff , etc . Dry cleaners are necessary sometimes but I'm filled with dread and trepidation at the thought of ruining any of my vintage ... Thank you , everybody .   The Valentine Museum in Richmond has a textile collection second only to the Metropolitan Museum (in the US). You can call them and ask for their textile curator...when I worked there they were very cooperative about answering questions about cleaning and conservation. 804.649.0711.
