Dianna M. asked:We had a leak from our upstairs bathroom down to our living room. A plumber fixed the leak but now we have a huge hole in our living room ceiling -- approximately 4' x 8' -- I added a picture of one part of it. Any recommendations for someone with experience with sheetrock and making sure the ceiling is level?Tom M. replied:Extremely important to make sure the entire ceiling cavity or anything else that was wet is 100% dry. Otherwise you'll be dealing with the mold. If that picture is the extent of it then you could probably dry it yourself. If on the other hand other building materials were wet then you may need a mitigation company. Which will be covered by insurance. Either way the once wet materials need a preventive antifungal tratment before final repair. Www.ecotechmold.com
