  Looking for recommendations for a Veterinarian that can do cataract surgery on a small dog. She is 12 years old and the estimate this friend has gotten is $4400 and was told there's only one Vet in Louisville that can do this surgery....Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.   Need some serious advice and help.. This is my rescue Brownie.. she is approximately 3 .. on Sat 9/19 she started limping not using her right leg.. so worried I took her to Metropolitan ER to have her looked at .. they said that she has luxating patella in both knees left being worse that her right .. however it was her right knee that popped itself outta place .. they said she will need surgery to fix the problem so that she will have a better quality of life.. that if she doesn't have surgery things will decline and she may not be able to walk in the future.. tonight it has popped out twice I have to stretch her leg and it pops itself back in place... So of course my next question was how much does this cost .. he told me about 2000.00 a knee.. I about fainted .. we have no way to pay for this and didn't know if anyone know of a way we can get this done cheaper.. we just cannot afford this.. She is a rescue however she has rescued me.. any advice is welcome .. if you had a dog have this surgery how did it go?/ where did you get it done .. I am desperate to find a way to fix my sweet baby

  You may want to also call Elk Creek Animal Hospital. It is in Fisherville so about 30 min away. (502) 477-1477. 57 Commerce Dr, Fisherville, KY 40023. My dog just had to have emergency hip surgery. We were at Dixie animal hospital, a local animal surgeon could do the surgery for $2000, but if we went to Fisherville it was only $1000. They were fantastic.
