Typically Neighbourhood Watchers are a group of people from an Area, Estate or Street who have come together in the interests of protecting their neighbourhood from crime.
Somerset West Neighbourhood Watch (SWNW) is a registered NPC (2017/082849/08) and is the ‘eyes & ears’ of the community, thereby helping to safeguard the community against criminal activities and to strive for a safe and secure environment for all to live, work and play.
SWNW has over 20 area watch groups with more in the surrounding areas across the Helderberg. This page serves to promote the concept of 'community' in the context of Neighbourhood Watch.
Today within Somerset West the local Neighbourhood Watches work together to help keep the area safe. That equates to over 3000 individual members supporting each other and SAPS in the fight against crime. We also work closely with Strand and Gordon's Bay Neighbourhood Watches.
For further information please contact the Secretary of your local Neighbourhood Watch group.
It's free to join; just let us know what street you live in.
Does anyone know of the guy that removes bees in somerset west? He is an older man and he doesn't wear protective gear when he removes the bees... I'm looking for him in particular
Hi! Can someone please help me out. There has been a swarm of bees outside my house for over an hour. I assume they looking for a new place to next. What can I do? TIA
Need a beekeeper! Just discovered honey bees in our chimney. They can't have been there too long, today is the first time I've noticed the buzzing and seen a few around the fireplace in the living room. Two small children so they need to go. Or - can I just make a fire and smoke them out??

Hi Need a bit of advice...There are a few vagrants that have 'set up home' on a plot near our house. Whilst I feel sorry for their circumstances I am worried about the mess being created also no toilet there so not too sanitary. Who does one contact or what is the process?

Whilst I would recommend everyone join Somerset West Neighbourhood Watch 021 840 0009 please bear in mind the problem with vagrants is a problem that can really only be dealt with by a number of agencies working together which includes your local councillors, Stuart Bruce Pringle, Benedicta Van Minnen, Law Enforcement, Saps, etc etc. By all means call on NW or your own security provider but this is a long term problem that requires an in depth & well constructed plan, including the community, not a quick phone call.
Hi Guys, I am Lizelle, the owner of Alfornos in Gordonsbay, we would love to help feed the fire fighters !!!! Can anyone tell me, where we can take some pizzas for them?
