Hi everyone. Where's the cheapest place online to buy supplies like paints, canvases, etc.?
I know about Blick, Hobby Lobby and Michael's.
Another question, what's a decent price to pay for a canvas, in sizes like 16x20? Thx for any info
Looking for cheap painting easels
Any ideas? Been to Michaels

Dick Blick has stores in Oakland and Berkeley, or you can shop online. Also try www.cheapjoes.com or www.jerrysartarama.com, both art supply stores. They have sales often, too.
Hey everyone!
I'm currently living on a small Hawaiian island for a bit. There is absolutely no art supply store in the nearest area. If any of you could recommend the best and cheapest website to order art supplies that would be greatly appreciated.
Mahalo!
Where can I find a portfolio for a good value? I used to have a table just for prints but I no longer have the space and hate having my coffee table out of commission everytime I get a new print. I don't have anything bigger then 18x24

For my Artist Friends...
Can someone please suggest a really nice drawing/shading set? Pencils and such... My daughter is starting to really draw and she has "starter" type stuff. If love to find something nice. Thanks!
Thank you for adding me. A soon to be retired lady looking for hobbies to fill the day. As a newbie can anyone recommend any fine nib pens that don't cost the earth. Thanks.

Florida Homesteader has a 7 year old girl who is very interested in art. She's adamant that she wants to be an artist when she grows up.
"Unfortunately she has her parents' talent in the area (my husband and I are both trained as chemical engineers so art has a tendency to be rather neglected in our house). I really don't have time to add another subject that requires my guidance, but I think having an art curriculum to work through independently if she finishes her other subjects in time would help keep her little artistic brain focused better. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced art curriculum for a 7 year old who is barely capable of drawing a recognizable stick figure? She is very bright and talented in many other areas (reading, piano, sewing, milking goats) so please don't take my honesty regarding her artistic skills as overly harsh criticism. Simply stating the facts to clarify the situation. Thank you!"

any recommendations on where to get gesso affordable, or even a good price point for it? I'm using it for paper 3D models for school and to reclaim a few old canvases, also any recommendations of good/bad brands welcome, I've honestly never used gesso and am fairly clueless ;)

If you need a lot, I've gotten a gallon bucket of it for around $25 or less online (jerrysartarama.com) or at Michaels (using a coupon)
Does anyone know of a place where I can buy lots of sheet foam? Looking for purple and green specifically. Want something a little thicker than the kid's craft stuff at Michaels.
