Does anyone know of any volunteer opportunities for a 14 year old kid that needs volunteer hours for his school in the area?
Robbie B. replied:
If they like working with animals, go to the animal sheltor or we volunteer some times at this place. The will give you a letter for the volunteer hours. www.theguineapigrescue.com
Does anyone know if any of the local animal shelters take in guinea pigs? I promised my little guy a guinea pig and would rather "rescue" one than buy it.

Texas Rustlers on 121 would love to have you adopt one of theirs. I bought food and hay from them as well. http://www.theguineapigrescue.com/

If anyone wants to volunteer, even just once, Texas Rustlers Guinea Pig Rescue could definitely use the help for a couple of hours, and it is an eye opening experience for adults and children alike. There are so many small pets that need rescuing and furever homes because their owners relinquish them. Even collecting newspapers, like the Cross Timbers Gazette, and bringing them to the Texas Rustlers to line the cages would be a welcomed and much needed donation. <3
Anyone know where we can get a cute and healthy hamster for Christmas? My 6-year old is asking Santa for one and I wasn't terribly impressed with the ones at Petco. Thanks in advance!

The only rescue I know of in TX is the Texas Rustlers Guinea Pig Rescue: http://theguineapigrescue.com/ You could try contacting them. you could also try www.petfinder.com for adoptable pigs in your area. Be sure to do your research to ensure that guinea pigs are the right pet for your household. http://www.guinealynx.info/healthycavy.html Happy hunting! (sally)
