  Strongly recommend [Wimbledon Driving School](https://www.wimbledondrivingschool.com). I did a few refresher lessons with them recently. I had an instructor named Farooq, and he was great. I assume my experience isn't unique, as they have a [very high TrustPilot rating](https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/wimbledondrivingschool.com). They operate across most of SW London. I also strongly recommend *against* using BSM.

  Another vote for Wimbledon Driving School. I did intensive lessons so got my license in about 3 weeks. I should point out that there are great videos by some amazing instructors on YouTube. I would definitely recommend using these to familiarise yourself with the rules and driving in general. This will significantly accelerate your learning and you can then use the actual lessons to develop the driving habit as opposed to learning the basic rules. Finally, you can use the videos to benchmark your instructor. I found mine to be average with some gaps but I was able to manage the optimise our interactions accordingly.

Can you recommend an instructor. We live in Wandsworth, although she works in the city. The price has gone up a fair bit since I learnt. I don't think I paid over £10 an hour for a lesson. Seems to be about £25 an hour now! Ideally she'll do a bit of practice in between lessons with me in our car and then hopefully do the test in our car (thats how I learnt to drive and it helped me as it was the car I'd driven the most so felt most comfortable in it). How many lessons before a test is normal nowadays? Think I did about 12. She's not super confident so I imagine she'll need more than that.

  I learnt about five years ago using Wimbledon Driving School. My instructor was good. I think I had 35 hours of lessons but could have got away with a few less. I was 30 at the time. http://www.wimbledondrivingschool.com

  Hi Guys, any recommendations for places providing driving lessons for UK drivers license? I heard you have to take 10hrs regardless of how you know to drive. Checking near where I stay (hammersmith), its 200£ for 10 lessons. Seems pricy but probably the market rate. Any thoughts?
