  Circumcision is not a cure for phymosis. Please please please look into the treatment options a little more before making this decision that is life altering for boys. If it is a decision you have already made please look into the different types of circumcision (low and loose or high and tight for instance) and methods used. Maybe get into drmomna.org or savingsons.org or the saving sons Facebook page for info you might miss out on from a doctor that could be pro circ in the first place. Hugs to you, this cannot be easy. X

My baby brother has had UTIs and his urologist said he may need to be circumcised to "avoid any bacteria to be trapped inside" and then proceeded to attempt to forcefully retract the foreskin!!!!! Him doing this just makes me feel he isn't qualified to make such decision after displaying such act! My mother and I want a second opinion from a urologist who has knowledge on uncircumcised infants. Thanks!

I have united healthcare (originally Medicaid and they switched me) and he still has the gold Medicaid card. I go to ObGyn & associates of St..augustine and will be delivering in Flagler hospital. If anyone had the same insurance or doctor help with this would be so appreciated! Thanks! Not sure if there's anyway to have it done without the out of pocket expense.

If properly cared for the risk of infection is minimum. There are many functions to that foreskin and if men weren't supposed to have it they wouldn't be born with it. An uncircumsised penis sanitary as long as its cleaned properly just like any other part of the body.
