D.T is really good. Dogtra also is good. SportDog is what I use, it's simple and about $160 for the wetlands model. I like it because it's small but it would be nice to have more that 14 stimulation levels.
QUESTION..... We have a member from this group that has asked the following question. Please comment below.....
Any recommendations on a training shock collar? Must be good to use at the beach and cover a long distance. We have a runner. Thanks.

I have a SportDog model as well. It has beep/shock/maybe vibration? I don't know because I only use the beep. It has helped with many unwanted behaviors including running away, anxiety barking (near other dogs that he wants to play with), and general responsiveness to commands from long distances. As long as it's used as an aid and not a "shock punishment" I think they are great.

Love my SportDog Wetland Hunter. Shock, tone, and vibrate. Waterproof and great range.

I use a Sportdog 825. It has a half mile range with vibration and tone which is all my Bella needs. You can usually find a good deal on them with amazon.

I just got a SportDog 425 and Love it. My 7 month puppy is doing great out in the field hunting. Like most of the above posts she responds amazing to the vibrate. Allison, the study you site is a little flawed as the group using collars " These dogs had generally experienced high intensity stimuli without pre-warning cues during training. " I am most certain that is none of our goals. I always use verbal, vibrate, then shock as a last resort. And I trained my dog before using an e-collar. Some Britts are just to dang stubborn :-)
