  Hi everyone.. most of you will know me as Marlos mum who has been missing since 26 June 2016. Im sorry ... this is not a dog question but hoping someone can help. I have a next door neighbour with a tiny cat who has already had her 2nd litter of kittens in a matter of months.. he is not going to get her fixed and I cannot stand it.. she is just a baby herself. I have offered to pay get her fixed, and arrange this . any suggestions where is the best/ most cost effective place to do this? her new baby's are 4 weeks now so it needs to be asap, the thought of her getting pregnant a 3rd time is not nice. (Im in Sandringham) but flexible as to where. Thanks heaps Erin

  Does it have to be in Mangere? We live in Otahuhu and go to Great South Vets in Papatoetoe with our cats. They are well known for more affordable prices than some places. http://www.greatsouthvets.co.nz/

  Cindi KwockSun idont know if its the same reason than Jaki Lafaele but the lady than usually works at reception is abit rude in a whole lot of different ways. My friends fiance was sworn at on the phone, iwas talked to quite rudely when itook my cats in and alot of other people were getting told to "just wait" with attitude. Not very good customer service at coronation rd. But ihighly recomend great south vets. Thats our usual vet. We only went to coronation rd becos of the desexing. Theyre very caring to you and your pets in pap and the prices are unbeatable.. ilive in the bridge and we always go to great south vets :)

  We tried Coronation Road about 3 years ago for our dog as they are local, even though a friend said she had a bad experience. Customer service was pretty substandard, though they were busy. Also, they told us they would phone when our dog could be picked up. We waited and waited, at the end of the day I phoned and was told she could have been picked up hours before but that I would need to get there fast as they were closing. Picked her up, she was stressed and cold. Easily fixed though, we take our pets (and money) elsewhere, went back to our previous vet, but they are expensive and Great South Vets have better hours. Our neighbour has two cats and uses Coronation vets, and has never had a problem.

  We live on Coronation Road, but rather go Papatoetoe Great South Vets their costs is way better than Coronation Road. We also had a very bad experience with Coronation Road Vets. We've been in Mangere Bridge for years 50+ ;)

  Just so you know, Great South Vets don't do on account. You have to pay at the time, so make sure you can at lest cover the consult. You can set up a pre-paid account with them, where you pay $5 or so a week and it goes onto your name so that you can just go in when you need to, and costs will come out of that, but that is only once they already have the money. Hope your boy is ok.

  Please don't take him to great south vets. I spent 120 and they made my kitten worse than he was. !!! A 2 week recover time doubled. Go to glenfield vet clinic. They are amazing and will let you set up a weekly payment plan to cover the cost if you call them first! !

  go to Mangere Vet Clinic sorry to say to all the Great South Vets but they are disgusting and I would not take a dead animal to them, I will never ever set foot in that place again, their care is substandard and I don't trust them and would not suggest them to anyone

  http://www.greatsouthvets.co.nz/ These guys aren't necessarily holistic, however when they offered us antibiotics, and we said we don't like to use drugs and did they think he (cat) would be fine without, they were cool with it. Consultation was only $29 and they handled him very nicely. Meow.

  I use Great South Vets too now - after the problems I have at South Auckland Vets in Manurewa a couple of years ago with one of my cats when he broke his leg. Ive only had one bad experience with Great South Vets and that was when I took my dog in for fly strike and they vet I saw didnt know what it was...took me a couple of years to self disnose and treat it (with the help of my vet prior to both of these in takanini). Great South Vets also allow time payment plans if your having things like surgery where you dont have to apply for a finance company.
