  [meta] Vietnam era gear Hay everyone, I’m looking into doing some themed 3 gun matches and I’m looking into the gear costs and what I would need. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any where to buy some gear. So far I have the weapons, helmet, bayonet, belt, butt pack, and 1911 holster. The main thing I’m looking for is the Med Alice Pack, uniform (pattern 2 I think is what I need), and the flack vest. I’m ok with repro stuff if it saves some money, and unfortunately my local Surplus shops seemed to have moved onto gulf war era gear so they weren’t much help. Also I’m in the US (TX) if that helps I appreciate any leads you all might have!

  I don't know a whoooole lot about Nam, but for uniforms hit up Ebay for OGs or [Moore Militaria](https://www.mooremilitaria.com/) for good reproductions. If you're getting a ruck, look for a tropical or lightweight rucksack. IIRC alice packs came about after Nam. btw, if you've already got a buttpack a rucksack isn't strictly speaking necessary, plus using both of them at the same time is hard as hell. On the off chance you're in the Austin area, check out the Quonset Hut. It's an awesome store that actually sells Cold War surplus for a change, and they usually have a decent selection of uniforms and gear from Nam. It's where I got most of my stuff, and the guy who runs it is awesome.
