Sorry if not allowed, need advice from horsey people: my Cleveland bay tb x 17 year old mare, has something wrong with her front left leg. This developed maybe a year and a half - 2 years ago. We had X-rays and vets around to no avail so turned her out for a year and a bit. She is still not right, but the unevenness only shows at the trot. She's not hesitant on it, still gallops around the paddock and what not, she doesn't seem bothered by it. I was told by the vet that if I wanted to find out what is wrong, the next step would be scintigraphy (not sure on spelling) but as this is a costly procedure and the horse is getting on and not worth much over $3000 we are hesitant to go ahead with it. Has anyone had good results with scintigraphy? And any advice/recommendations for vets who specialise? I'm running out of ideas!
