  Does anyone have a recommendation of an SLP and neurologist or developmental pediatrician in the Vineland NJ area for a 6 year old that was diagnosed with apraxia? The school sent the child to a pediatrician (Dr. Carlo B. Melini, MD) in NJ who said "it's not apraxia it's PDD" and they've cut speech to 20 minutes a week. He's on NV, he's talking and doing well in school, but the mom wants a second opinion on the diagnosis as it looks like the school is looking to cut down on speech. Also she wants to know does anyone have chocolate NV to sell? If someone is in this area I can put in touch with Kelly please pm me.

  thanks Christine Muniz -I wonder if her wait time is so much less because people don't know about her? Typically the neurologist can help in securing appropriate therapies through insurance and the school with their evaluations -they aren't the ones t hat treat. The only thing you wrote that I'm not too sure about is the starting with an MRI- in most cases in our group nothing shows up on an MRI. Most of the neurologists and developmental pediatricians I refer to (like Dr. Cargan Robyn Walsh - already gave her his name) do not refer for an MRI unless they suspect something, or a child has a condition like seizures. Does your child have seizures or a condition that requires an MRI? Did Dr. Kubichek suspect something in your child that would require an MRI? Are you sure she refers everyone that comes to her for an MRI to start? I wouldn't want to have to put a child through an MRI if it's not needed. Again out of all I know that put their kids through this nothing shows up. Children's brains are different than adults which is why we would take our children to them to have the "soft signs" diagnosed globally. For your child did she diagnose any soft signs?
