  Kissing Spine advice/ experience/ recommendations needed. The vet confirmed it today with X-rays. It completely explains his change in behavior. Apparently he's had it for years but was no longer able to tolerate the pain. Hence the bad behavior. We've started with the first round of cortisone injections, supplemented by ground work and under saddle work to strengthen his back. He also recommended I look into a Pessoa lunge system, which are pricey. Does anyone have any recommendations on off brand systems that do the same thing? Also, I'd love any prayers and good vibes you're willing to send our way. Thank you!

  http://equicoreconcepts.com/system.html This is what my vets have been recommending in comparison to the Pessoa system. It's just as effective without using the head/bit pressure. And suite a bit cheaper. Highly recommend, I've seen a horse work in one of these and then work in the Pessoa system. Just as effective if it more.

I've been advised to lunge initially by the vet with a chambon or degogue so he works himself correctly before/alongside starting ascending ridden work over the next 6-8weeks.   Equiami ooor equicore concept do the equiband which is amazing! We used it on a mare with sacroiliac issues and it's really helped build her back up http://equicoreconcepts.com/system.html our physio suggested it however she makes them herself by making a hole in a numnah and tying some physio band to it - much cheaper!!x

  Hi, My 6 year old mare has just been diagnosed with some internal problems which have made the area over her sacral spine "like a cast" which means she has no muscle in that area. She has been treated and is not yet strong enough to take a rider so vet suggested she do some yoga and core strengthening exercises. Any ideas or suggestions for literature gratefully received please.
