  In search of a road bike with 105s under $1000 usd Hi all, First post here, so bare with me. Started riding about 2 years ago. Made great progress on fitness and learning how to shift etc. I’ve been riding a Jamis with sora for a while. The feeling of steel and the geometry is just perfect, but........... the shifting kinda sucks. I live in CT where there’s a lot of hills to climb and Sora is just not cutting it in terms of smoothness and response. So, I’m looking for a bike with 105s and hopefully under or around $1000. Any recommendations for a brand and model? Or where to look for deals? Thanks guys!

  I am not well versed in components, but earlier this year, got a raleigh Willard 2 from eriksbikeshop.com - shipping was 50 and the price and selection was great. Poke around on that website, and maybe I'll see you on some trails here in the nutmeg state :)

  Tried Pauls and they turned me down, will call Howards. And Kirk i suggest renting first only to make sure she likes it, the tow ropes are harder on a board, skis are significantly easier. Victoria has fallen in love with the board last year, so i pick ed her up a K2 kit to get her started. I wanted to see if she really liked it before i spent the cash on a big girl board/bindings and boots.
