  Shadowing Optometrists I am a pre-optometry student and I am looking for shadowing opportunities. I have worked at my optometrist's private practice for a couple years now, so I have a bunch of hours with a general/family optometrist, but NO variation. I want to shadow an eye doctor w any different specialty (ophthalmologist, vision therapist, retinal disease, etc.) and I have called/emailed almost 10 different places, but I never get any response. @OtherPreOptomStudents @Optometrists: What should I do? How did you guys get chances? (Also if anyone on here knows/is an eye doc near the trivalley area in CA that might let me shadow lmk) Thx in advance!

  The best optometrist I have ever seen for my dd is Dr. Sandy Johal. Her office is in Surrey. She however is a developmental Optometrist and so worth the drive! To find out more go to covd.org She has people from the okanogan and the island who come in to see her. She is so lovely and professional. Her regular check up is covered under BC medical, at least it was for us. Before we found her we going to a place in town and I will never go back there.... here is dr.   We saw Dr Bloom, on the NE side of town. Look for someone with COVD in their title (my dad is a retired OD). They can do extra tests for kids to see if school/learning difficulties are vision related, and do training if needed. http://www.covd.org/

  As a vision therapist for 14 yrs. and former teacher, I would recommend taking her to a developmental optometrist who provides vision therapy. You can find one at www.covd.org :)

  I know this sounds odd...but you may also want to check his/her vision with a Developmental Optometrist ...there is more to vision than acuity (20/20). Not sure where you live ...there is a doctor in Warrensburg... Or check out www.covd.org
