I life in WA so I don't have any local insight. However, surveyors are accredited. Typically by NAMS or SAMS. Try their websites. https://www.marinesurvey.org/ https://www.namsglobal.org/
Hi All - I'm looking for a sharp sailboat surveyor on the Chesapeake; if you had good experience - or bad one so I can avoid that surveyor - please let me know. Thanks,
Check the membership lists for the Society of Accredited marine Surveyors (www.marinesurvey.org/) and the National Association of Marine Surveyors (www.namsglobal.org/). Talk to a couple to find out whos available and what their surveys include. If youre using a broker, make sure that the surveyor doesnt have a business relationship with the broker. Its not always obvious. Jim
Looking for some local knowledge — Does anyone have a recommendation for a surveyor in Ft. Pierce or surrounding areas of Florida?
Thanks in advance!

Keith Johansen, there's a bunch of information here: http://www.marinesurvey.org/ However, as with anything else, simply getting the accreditation doesn't necessarily equate to quality received. That's why I'm hoping for some local knowledge here. I've got a list from Google of every surveyor in the area, but I'd love to know ones that people have first hand experience with and can vouch for the quality of work done.
