  I am searching for information about Emilie Stalnaker born about 1826 in Lewis Co. WV. Daughter of Charles Stalnaker 1794-1868 and Susannah England 1803-1863. She married William D. Maddox, Nov. 30, 1844 in Lewis Co. I hit a dead end when I search for what happened to her. William D. Maddox migrates from Hacker's Creek area to Jackson Co. WV. Some indication she did not move with him, was possible patient at Trans-Allegheny Asylum. Cannot obtain records from Trans-Allegheny. No record of her after 1870. Looking for any information or clues where to look next.

  Jo, We rather came up dead end also. The only thing we found is Eliza Maddox died 12/02/1901 at the age of 80 yrs. Died in Edgar, Jackson County. Died of dropsy, person who gave info listed as W. B. Stalnaker, grandson. This info was found on wvculture.org

  Does anyone know anything about The Crystal Block Coal Company, or where I could find information on my grandfathers death. His name is Patrick Miller (1906-1941) He was killed in a mining accident. On his death cert. it says he died in Williamson, accident happaned in Lobata, but he lived in Rawl. Just trying to piece things together. He was widowed at the time from my grandmother Tennie Herald Miller (1905-1939) Anything would be of help....Thanks.

  Www.wvculture.org Call the research library and inquire about printing newspapers Www.cabell.lib.wv.us They printed a bunch of newspaper articles for me and were cheaper.

  I think the wvculture.org website has a collection of photos of one-room schoolhouses throughout the state. Don't know offhand whether any of them are in Gilmer.

  Thanks Mike. I have tried wvculture.org Im looking for obits for kin who died in 1973 and 1995 in Boone/Kanawha Co. They do not seem to have records online for those years for those counties. I may just have to contact the library there for the look up.
