Hello everyone. I am in New York and need to get a large ceramic sculpture bisque-fired before I take it upstate for a wood-firing. Does anyone own a kiln or know someone who would be willing to rent me their kiln for this purpose? Thanks!

Unfortunately my kiln isn't wide enough... It's only around 24" wide. A few thoughts: you could approach Hunter College, Columbia University or NYU; they all have extensive ceramic programs with big kilns. Also, the 92 nd Street Y or Greenwich House Pottery. OR, you could contact my friend Janine, who is in Greenpoint. Her email is info@clayspace1205.com. I'm pretty sure that she has an oval kiln which will be plenty big enough. If none of these options work out, I can keep looking; I'm sure I can find someone with a big kiln. Let me know. If you want, you can call or text me: 347-526-9805.
A friend is looking for a photographer to document small ceramic wall pieces. Any thoughts? NYC.

I like Doug Brooks. He's based in Brooklyn, inexpensive, and he's a ceramic artist so he knows how to photograph ceramic art. His info is on my studio computer so I will get it to you tomorrow. In the meantime, you can look at his work on my web site (I apologize; I don't know how to get rid of the obnoxious link): lynngoodmanporcelain.com
