I need some hoof advice. My gelding is getting hoof abscesses more frequently, my farrier says he has poor hoof walls & he is conservative on trimming him. I am trying to avoid getting him shod & wanting to keep him barefoot. Right now he doesn't have a visible abscess but is grade 4 lame on LF & tender near heel. And has no heat, swelling or injury it was an onset acute lameness. Is soaking still recommended? Or should I try a poultice? I have asked many farriers & vets & get mixed answers so I thought you guys might know what works best on TB's hooves/feet. Thank you in advance for any suggestions! :)
