About us
Hello I'm Hayley (waves frantically!) Slightly nutty, cake mad, yummy mummy, trolly dolly from Cornwall.
So anyone that knows me, knows my love for cake... Over the years it's changed from a love of cake, to a passion for creating & decorating mouthwatering morsels. So after the birth of my son Harry, I thought i'd take the opportunity of trying to make my hobby into the best job in the world... I mean who does't like cake?
And so 'Dollybird Bakes' is born.
Cupcakes and cake's for any occasion, be it a birthday, a new baby, a wedding, a gift or just because only a cakey treat can hit that spot! I mean It's the simple things right... and cake is one of them!
My cupcakes are pretty special, they are freshly baked each day in small batches and iced one order at a time. It takes longer this way but I believe they taste better. They do not contain any artificial preservatives or additives, and I do not freeze any of my cakes or frosting.
So as no preservatives, additives or cake mixes are used, your cupcakes are best enjoyed on their day of purchase, however (if you can resist), they will still taste delicious for 3/4 days if kept stored in their original containers - please, please avoid fridges or Tupperware, cupcakes don’t like these!
**Important Bits**
I hold the the required Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate, complying with current UK/EU Regulations. Dollybird Bakes is registered with Cornwall County Council, and holds all relevant insurance policies.
Any goods containing nuts will have this explicitly listed. Please note that although a product may not contain nuts, all items are made in a kitchen that handles nuts.
Cakes contain gluten / apart from the gluten free option =)
All my cakes contain egg.
Handcrafted 3d models will contain internal supports to make them ridged therefore they are not always edible. If you have special requirements please notify me before hand.
Brightly coloured cakes and icing, require added colouring. I use gel paste to colour,... show more therefore I only have to use a very small amount to achieve a great vibrant colour. It goes with out saying that some of these contain E numbers, these may have an adverse effect on the activity and attention of children, adults struggle with this anyway =) show more
