I am not looking for anything fancy, I just need a pair of glasses. I have set aside $200 for a pair of frames with lenses and the eye test. Maybe 10-20 bucks wiggle room.   I don't have a recommendation on the optometrist (I usually just go to Walmart), but I've ordered glasses from this place. They have an offer for a free set of glasses (you have to pay shipping & handling, though). The selection isn't huge, but it is free (single vision, un-coated lenses which you can upgrade). http://www.swifteyewear.com/first-pair-free
