  Hi, I've just taken voluntary redundancy (gulp!) and am planning on setting up a limited company in March when I leave my current job. Does anyone have any recommendations for: 1) a good local accountant; and 2) a good book on setting up your own business and basic accounting or bookkeeping (I'll definitely be using an accountant, but want to have a decent understanding of things too, especially record keeping)? Also, if anyone has done this themselves, do you have any advice on doing this, or things you wish you'd known when you did it?? Thanks!

  Hi Vida, you've had great tips so far!! I use a local bookkeeper called Jeff Levy, he is so helpful and keeps everything in good order for me,very reasonable prices too, worth giving him a call. His number is 07846 331 314. A great accountant is Nigel Reynolds from THP Ltd - His number is 0208 989 5147 - lovely guy, local, very experienced, can give so much advice to you as a start up business too.
