I have a fulfillment question. I'm launching a Kickstarter later this year for a party card game. The game is relatively cheap to make, consisting of a tuck box and one or two decks (depending on if I double-side the card content), so the Kickstarter could feasibly reach 1000+ copies sold. Thus, I want to utilize a fulfillment company.
However, I'm having difficulty finding cheap but high quality fulfillment companies other than Amazon. If my math is correct, Amazon will charge me ~$6 per order for multi-channel fulfillment (non-Amazon orders) including shipping (assuming the backer buys one copy of the game). I'm still gathering quotes from manufacturers, but it looks like the game will cost ~$2-3 per copy including freight. This sets my MSRP somewhere in the $16-20 range. That's certainly more than I was hoping to charge, especially for a one-deck game.
Do any of you recommend fulfillment companies other than Amazon? Or is there something I'm missing that allows other one-deck Kickstarters to have such cheap MSRPs? It would cost me ~$2.50 to ship each copy if I did it myself, so Amazon's rates seem a little bit inflated for something so small (I'm aware they're also storing, picking and packing the games, but still). If I can't get lower rates on fulfillment, I'm tempted to go the two-deck route so the consumer sees more value in the game with only a small increase in shipping and cost per game on my end.
Thanks for your help :)
