  Depends what facilities you want. This place is open all year. Doesn't take bookings but you won't have trouble in the winter (the weekend before last there were 2 tents and about 4 camper vans there) http://www.chapelhousefarmcampsite.co.uk/

  Hi everyone, My sister is getting married in August and my brother in law to be has decided that he would like to camp for a couple of nights in the lakes and do a few walks. Problem is trying to find a camp site that will take a group of four lads for a couple of nights. I did make the mistake of mentioning that it was his stag do but also said that we are all responsible adults and will be on our best behaviour but nobody seems to want our custom. It's a shame that the term stag do has such negative connotations (and probably rightly so) but this won't be your typical event. As frequent visitors to the area we would hate to "lower the tone" of the area and spoil any breaks for anyone else. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a camp site in the north lakes that would take a group of four... Any help would be great

  Johnny Babbitt, call Chapel House Farm (01768 777256) - I know he accepts groups and if you tell him the situation, you'll be fine. It's basic, but got hot showers, great location for walks and the advantage of 2 very good pubs within strolling distance!
