Hi all not directly crystal palace related but rather to do with our fellow Londoners up the Ginger line in Whitechapel! Can anyone recommend a really good place to eat up brick lane and any nice family friendly bars too same area? TIA

Chez Elle's on Brick Lane - sandwiched in amongst the indian restaurants, an amazing french bistro. Booking advised as the place is extremely popular. http://www.chezellesbistroquet.co.uk/
Can anyone recommend a French restaurant in zone 1 or 2, ideally run by French people...? Thanks in advance...
Edit: Thanks for all the great suggestions!

[Chez Elles] (http://www.chezellesbistroquet.co.uk/) in Brick Lane. As French as you can get, from the (gorgeous) owners to the clientele, and relatively cheap too, certainly compared with some of the starred places listed. Otto's is proper old school French too, right down to Canard a la Presse.
