We are fairly new to the area and would love if people could suggest nursing homes or animal shelters in the area that could benefit from some help or visitors.   I'd like to get my 10 year old daughter (and myself!) involved in some volunteer work next year. I've checked out a few places but they all had age limits of 12 and over. Anyone know of a good place where we could help out once a month or so? Would like either animal shelter or something involving needy families/soup kitchen, etc. Thanks!
