  Hi Nigel French What is the final output size you want from the photograph and what are the dimensions of the map? e.g. If I took one photograph of the whole map, that would give you a 20 inches x 13 inches@300 dpi. If I took multiple images and stitched them together (have used this technique many times with PTGui) then the final output can be increased many folds depending on your requirement, the advantage being improved detail capture.
