Dog vet question - my dog has a couple things I'd like looked at. We've usually taken him to a local vet who does a very good job. The problem is they're very expensive (they tend to be known for excellent service and being considerably more expensive than other vets) and I believe they sometimes over-recommend extra services and tests that really, really add up. I trust their care and expertise, but I sometimes feel like I'm paying through the nose. Specifically, he may need to have a tooth extracted (estimate on that from current vet was over $700), and I've found a couple lumps on his side I'd like looked at. Can anyone make a recommendation for a vet who is smart, honest, thorough and reasonably priced? Or am I asking too much in that package? I'm not looking for a dirt cheap vet, but someone who is expert and doesn't charge inflated prices. Thanks so much!
