  Center for Jewish History has some of the microfilms taken by the LDS church on permanent loan. Check their website to see if the town you are interested in is there. Lots of other resources available, but actually viewing the records (until they are all online) is exciting

  I, too, highly recommend the Center for Jewish History!Given that your cousin wouldn't have much time there because of early Friday closing hours, she should do as much advance research as possible to identify which materials she wants to see. If she wants to look at something in the archives, she can email the CJH, indicating when she'll visit. The staff (very helpful and knowledgeable) can set aside the archival boxes in advance, which will save her time.

  Another question! For the first time, a record I'm looking for on JewishGen has a microfilm number (in the past they haven't). Where can I go to get a copy of these records? Not sure what the cost is, but if it's negligible, I may get a few extras in case the parents listed on them indicate an additional relation. Jamie Rudman Kloosterman, I'm now 99% sure we are connected to some Teirsteins, but still working on who is sibling to who!
