  Scottish Mountain Gear ( www.scottishmountaingear.com ) are specialist outdoor gear repairers who I have used for tent & goretex jacket repairs. They are approved by North Face. They will hot tape seal that properly so still waterproof. Would be around £20

I have a plan for a small"sleeping shelter", but it needs a screen which would allow one to sleep outside in a damp Scottish wood without becoming midgie food. I have seen mosquito netting etc but the holes are too big. In fact, does anyone know the dimensions of a midgie?

  Scotish Mountain Gear www.scottishmountaingear.com might be able to help. They are based in Musselburgh and are the major Uk after market tent repairer for the main brands. They fit mes doors and will have the cloth in stock I suspect.
