  As a developer, we've used a few. I would recommend d the iPad mini for your kid, if the child is fairly young. If he or she is older, graduate to a full size iPad Air, it is the best on the market. For budget you can go with the Amazon Kindle Fire HD, they run about $150. But beware! There are add-on apps that Amazon will push on you, that's how they did the tablet so I expensively, by subsidizing with app offers. Finally, the Google Nexus 7 is an all around solid tablet, with beautiful resolution on the screen and good touch. Hope this helps. Tom www.rocklandwebdesign.com
